Attendance is expected to be up again at the sixth SoCal Coin & Currency Show, Dec 8-10. Sparked by elevated levels of gold and silver, there seems to be a significant interest by new collectors to learn about the history of money and coinage.

FREE coins for kids all three days! A big draw is the show's Kid's Korner with young numismatist activities. The SoCal Coin & Currency Show is sponsoring free Boy Scout Merit Badge Clinics,  Girl Scout Fun with Money Badge Workshops and mini coin classes for kids age 6-12.

Boy Scout Merit Badge clinics are taught by Patty Finner, former vice-president of the American Numismatic Association. There are two sessions, on Friday at 4pm and on Saturday at 10am. Boy Scouts can pre-register by calling 715-252-2003.

World coin collectors won’t want to miss a chance to visit with Art Garnett, a contributor to the first edition Krause Publications Standard Catalog of World Coins and co-author of Tokens of Latin America.

The SoCal show is held twice a year, in July and December. The summer show is set for July 19-21, 2012.

Table fees start at $325, early bird dealer admission is $25, general admission is $3.
